Father gives handgun to 13-year-old for protection, tragedy ensues

A Wickenburg, Arizona man needed to do some shopping so he left his 13-year-old son and his son's friend, 13-year-old Brady Baker home alone. Before the father left he gave his son a handgun so the boys would be able to protect themselves.
Around 7 p.m. police were called to the home to find the son had shot Brady in the head.
Brady was taken to Phoenix Children's Hospital in critical condition. Two days later he was removed from life support after a final brain scan showed no activity.
Brady's family believes the shooting was unintentional. "They're best friends," said Brady's sister. "I solely believe it was an accident."
Police are still investigating the incident.
