2-year-old unintentionally shoots and kills woman in Wal-Mart

A 29-year-old woman was shopping with four children at the Wal-Mart in Hayden, Idaho. According to police, one of the kids reached into the woman's purse and unintentionally discharged a handgun that was in the bag.

The woman was shot and died at the scene. The child who discharged the gun was about 2-years-old.

Deputies said the woman and the children were near the electronics section when the incident happened.  The woman was in town for the holidays and is not from the area.

After looking at video surveillance from the store and talking to eye witnesses deputies determined the shooting was unintentional.

Deputies said the woman had a concealed weapons permit.

3-year-old unintentionally shoots & kills his mother

26-year-old Christa Engles, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was changing her 1-year-old daughter's diaper when her 3-year-old son found a loaded, unlocked semiautomatic handgun under the couch.  The toddler unintentionally discharged the weapon, shooting his mother in the head.

Soon after, Christa's mother arrived at the home and found her and the two children covered in blood.  Christa was rushed to the hospital where she died a short time later.

Christa was an enrolled military member.  Police report there were several guns in the home.

Woman shot with own gun trying to fend off robber

A Tulsa, Oklahoma woman was having a garage sale at her house when a man and a woman knocked her to the floor, hit her and took the cash bag from the garage sale.

When the robbers let her up, the victim took a handgun from her back waistband and pointed it at them.  The man grabbed the gun and in the ensuing struggle the gun discharged, shooting the victim in the hand.

The robbers managed to get the gun and left with the gun and the money.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment where she was listed in serious condition.

19-year-old Allicia Love was arrested a short time later about a block from the scene of the robbery.  She admitted to police that she knocked the woman down while her companion took the money.  Police are still looking for the male robber.
